After going in the kiln


Final Product

For this activity students will have an opportunity to create their own clay creatures. These will be baked in a kiln and later painted with acrylic paint. 

 This Activity in Action

  1. Hand out clay 
  2. Have students use a small amount of water when molding clay
  3. Teach students techniques for smoothing the clay
  4. Let clay dry
  5. Put in kiln
  6. Give back to students
  7. Students paint creatures with acrylic paint
